Meaning of Limmud

Limmud (lee-ḿude) is the Hebrew word for learning.

To Sara Limmud means…

“… community. It’s an amazing opportunity to work with people from all over Philadelphia, of all ages, experiences and backgrounds. I've really discovered a Limmud family of people I never would have met otherwise.  Limmud has also allowed to me to develop as a leader within the community and to see my work come alive at the conference.”

— Sara, 2009-2010 Steering Committee Member and Limmud Advisory Board

Age: 30
Occupation: Human Resources
Personal Interests: Women's Issues, Sephardi history, and Israeli literature—also Jewish cooking!
Level of Jewish Knowledge: Sara considers herself "just Jewish."

At this year's conference, I am looking forward to sessions that will surprise me and help me learn about new things.  More to come!
